Anyone can offer a Continuing Education Unit (CEU) but not everyone can offer an Accredited CEU! The Continuing Education Unit Accreditation Council (CEUAC) is a national and global accreditor that awards accreditation to organizations, i.e. public, private for-profit or not-for-profit, that provide continuing education programs, professional development and training, workforce and employer-aligned learning, association industry education, and non-credit and alternative credential programs. Why CEUAC?
The continuing education and informal adult learning ecosystem is not “small” or “alternative.” Adult learning is now one of the largest, most dominant education ecosystems in the country. It is massive, economically significant, and workforce-critical, making non-credit, non-degree education a fastest growing segments of the U.S. learning ecosystem.
While traditional higher education enrolls approximately 18–20 million students annually, an estimated 70–100 million adults participate in continuing education and lifelong learning activities each year. Yet the quality assurance infrastructure supporting this rapidly expanding ecosystem remains fragmented and inconsistent. CEUAC exists to help close that gap.
