Empower Growth Through the
Standards Development Council
The Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is in the public domain and is commonly recognized as a standard unit of measure for continuing education and training, particularly as it applies to the personal and professional development of adult learners in a formalized educational setting. Standards and their development frame, guide, and normalize almost all areas of our lives. They make the world move. Standards reflect the shared values, aspirations, and responsibilities we as a society project upon each other and our world.
Our Standards Council consists of adult education professors, researchers, and practitioners. We adopt, improve, and develop standards based on best practices in the area of informal adult learning. The Council is experienced in building consensus and aims to present the public with the most forward-thinking practices in adult education that impact adult learners of today and the workforce of tomorrow.
The CEUAC Informal Adult & Continuing Education Standards of Excellence are approved by the membership and are the standards by which organizations evaluated for purposes of accreditation with CEUAC. In accordance with the CEUAC Bylaws, the Standards Council has exclusive authority to interpret the standards for accreditation and may adopt such policies and procedures as it deems necessary for the sound implementation of the accreditation evaluation process.

If you are interested in joining the Standards Council, please submit your resume to info@ceuac.org and make your subject line Standards Council Interest. We are seeking individuals who have at least five years of experience in adult education as a researcher or practitioner, as well as experience with accreditation as a contributor, reviewer, or standards developer.
